My husband and I are a young, loving couple with big dreams for our family. We were overjoyed when our daughter Julianna entered the world three years ago – she was our spontaneous miracle baby. For the last 14 months, we have yearned to give Julianna a sibling and to experience the joy of parenthood once more. However, our path has been much more difficult than we imagined.

I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal condition that affects about 1 in 10 women and commonly causes infertility. It causes my body to produce a surplus of hormones that wreak havoc on my body, leading to infrequent or even absent ovulation. Imagine a flower that rarely blossoms, making it almost impossible for new seeds to grow. That’s a small glimpse into the world of PCOS.

Despite the challenges, we’ve never given up hope. We’ve tried multiple rounds of ovulation-inducing medications, adjusted my diet with the help of specialists, focused on strengthening my body through exercise, and explored a range of natural remedies–yet nothing has caused me to ovulate. We have exhausted our options at an OBGYN level and the only thing we can pursue at this point is fertility treatment. Our determination to grow our family remains vibrant, even in the face of setbacks.

Julianna, with her innocent heart, often asks if I have a baby brother or sister growing in my belly. It breaks ours to see the disappointment on her face when we have to tell her no. We recently bought a home with the space and love for our family to expand, but that space remains empty.

Unfortunately, the road to fertility treatment is paved with financial obstacles. Our insurance doesn’t cover any of the costs, leaving us with the responsibility of paying everything out of pocket. The testing, the procedures, the medications – they carry a price tag that stretches beyond our current means.

We wholeheartedly believe that Julianna’s wish for a sibling can come true. With your support, we can take the steps towards overcoming the obstacles of infertility and welcoming another precious life into our family. Any contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to fulfilling our dream and making a joyous addition to our family. Every dollar counts and will be put toward treatment to make our dreams for our family a reality.
